I hope you and your family enjoyed your Christmas holiday as much as ours did. I truly savored the time spent with my loved ones without the added responsibilities of work and traveling...just to be still and quiet at times, to meditate on God's greatest gift to us through His Son, to laugh until we could hardly stand it. It was sad to see it go, but now it is time to get about the business at hand. A new year...
As we all are settling back into our routines of work, school, daily schedules and responsibilities, I am excited to share with you something that I am doing beginning this coming Monday. Psalm 119:105 says "Thy Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path." Did you know that over 75 million Americans say they wish they would accomplish what we are about to do in their lifetimes, but few ever do? I have committed to the 90-Day Challenge, and will be reading the entire Bible through in just that...90 days! Hannah and I will be doing it together, along with hundreds of other students and families of FirstBaptistChurch's Student Ministries. Hannah has had many students and friends in her school commit to join her in this venture, as well. What an incredible opportunity for us all! Several years ago I committed to reading the Bible through with a One-Year-Bible, and though I did complete it, it actually ended up taking me about a year and a half! I am so excited that these students will be able to say they have read the entire Word of God before they even graduate from high school. I can't wait to see what God is going to do in each of our lives as we stick to this commitment, trusting Him to enable us to finish what we have begun.
What are your goals for this year? I would invite you to consider committing to read the Bible through...whether it be in 90 days, a year, or even two.
2009 was a great year in this ministry, and I am so thankful to be able to tell you the Lord blessed us with over 75 ministry opportunities that spanned SC, NC, GA, FL, TX, VA, TN & NY. I was thankful for the additional recording contract that came about through Kid Music. I continue to be grateful for the Lord's provision as I sing personalized lullabies on the project "No One Like You.” Jerry Sims and I were able to release our new Christmas CD, "Christmas With You," and I also re-released an older project newly-entitled "Keep Believing" with the much-requested title song. God has been good to meet our needs while giving Jennifer and me the incredible privilege of serving Him in this work.
As we look at this year, the Lord has already blessed us with many ministry opportunities that will take me to MO, SC, NC, GA, TX & OR. The children and I have been invited to travel to Israel in April and also share my ministry there. I'm looking forward to all that God wants to do in and through us this year! Jennifer is busy scheduling out this year and even scheduling events into 2011. If you’re interested in having me come to your church or a different event, or even an add-on date when I will already be in your area, I would love to hear from you! (see attached concert schedule for 2010)
As with the seasons’ changes, there have been some changes in our own family over the last few months. A few months ago I shared with you an unnamed storm I was facing, and certainly one that I never saw coming. My precious son, as a 13-year-old, began expressing a desire to live with his dad. Being one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make as a mother, after much prayer and careful consideration, I let him go, believing this is what he truly needed. This is one of those times in life when the decision made was certainly not what I would have chosen, but what I believed I needed to do for Ross. He was here with Hannah and me for the full 2-week Christmas break and we had a precious time together. He will be here every other weekend, and he will spend his summer with us since my work allows more flexibility. Would you please pray for us all as we adjust and do what we feel is best for our son and our families? I am trusting that the Lord is working all of this out for good according to His purposes in each of our lives. (Romans 8:28)
We'd love to invite you to visit our website where you can purchase your own copy of the brand new CD "Keep Believing" (the beautiful artwork/cover design once again done by our own Jennifer Dale), , both Christmas projects at the after-Christmas sale price of $15, and the many other products we have available.
May you allow God's Word to be the light that leads you on the path He has set out for you to take in 2010.
Sincere blessings to you and yours,
