Happy Fourth of July and greetings from Jordan Ministries! This is an exciting month for our family as we are celebrating birthdays. Hannah turns 16, and yes, she is driving. She has been a great help to me and to Jordan Ministries as she is now able to run some errands. What a blessing! I can hardly believe it but Ross will be an official teenager also this month. He turns 13 and we are planning some special birthday parties with extended family and friends. I am finding it hard to believe that my little ones are now BOTH teenagers! They are not so little anymore, but continue to be such a joy as I watch them grow into the people they are becoming. Ross continues to play his guitar 24/7, and Hannah is now learning to play guitar, she continues to play piano, and is also singing and songwriting. We have a very musical house, and I absolutely love it.
We so enjoyed celebrating this week-end with one of my dearest friends, Julie Caldwell, and her family up in Easley, SC, and also got to attend the Miss South Carolina Pageant. It was nice to get away for a little while. For a lot of people, summer means a slower pace, vacation and rest. June was restful for me also, but things are gearing back up again and I have a very busy July and August ahead of me. I am thankful for the ministry opportunities and also covet your prayers for myself andthe children during this time.
At the end of June spent a week-end in the studio, recording Kid Music's new Lullaby Project, "No One Like You - Christian Lullabies for Little Angels". The non-personalized version of the CD should be available in two weeks, so be checking my website for that and place your orders for the special little ones in your life .. I am already recording the personalized versions of the lullaby as well and have spent my "spare" time the past two weeks training/recording/singing names. If you'd like to hear samples of the songs or even order a Personalized version of this lullaby you can do so by clicking on this link:
Visit our sites to see and hear samples of this beautiful project. Proceeds from the items purchased on the Kid Music site (using my link above), including this album are donated back to Dawn Smith Jordan Ministries.
July is a busy month of travel for me. I am sharing concerts in Greer/Easley, SC, St. Simon's Island, GA, here in Columbia and in Florence, SC. Hannah and Ross will be joining me for many of these concerts, which is such a highlight for this mama. I'll also be in Orangeburg and Sumter at the beginning of August. If you are in the area, check out my concert calendar on the website and come join me. And please be sure to say hello while you are there! Our wonderful web designer/manager has recently posted a few videos on the Media page of our web site, after my son, Ross, uploaded them to a Youtube page he designed. It is such a blessing to have both of my children serving in this ministry with me. The page is www.youtube.com/dawnsmithjordanpage should you want to see Ross's work.
I am so thankful that my concert schedule continues to be busy.September still has acouple of open dates, so if you are interested, be sure to contact Jennifer at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are also booking Christmas concerts as right now is the time that churches are planning their holiday concerts and activities. Let us know if you are interested in having Jerry Sims and me share our Christmas music from our "Remember Christmas" project at your church.
In my devotional time this morning, I was reminded by a friend of mine in her new devotional book (31 Days of Encouragement, Devotions from One Purpose) that each day we have a choice with how we will live our lives. "I have chosen the way of Truth; I have obeyed Your law." Psalm 119:30. Posted in my kitchen are the familiar words fromJoshua 24:15b, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15a says, "Choose for yourselves today whom you will serve." Today, let's choose to live for Christ, and for His glory alone.
